Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Sales Engineer located at our Racine, WI manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Summary
Under the direction of the North American Sales Manager, the Sales Engineer will assist the development and execution of sales strategies and objectives for various Twin Disc product lines, as well as other opportunities for Twin Disc products in their assigned territory.  This position will be responsible for the evaluation of various customer requirements and the application of Twin Disc products to meet those requirements, while ensuring each application is successful and meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Engineering Degree (BS in Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical or other Engineering Technology Programs) preferred or equivalent technical knowledge and experience in product application, design, and/or sales/marketing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and engineering

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • CRM expertise such as Salesforce is preferred
  • Proficient and working knowledge of ERP Systems and Sales Tracking Tools
  • Familiar with 3D modeling (Solidworks or similar)

Communication Skills:.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of internal and external organizations
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to understand customer needs and utilize existing resources to satisfy them
  • Ability to discuss and resolve difficult situations with vendors and customers
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, including monthly reporting of sales activity and market data

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Twin Disc Industrial Products is preferred; General Understanding of Twin Disc Global Competitors is preferred
  • Awareness of all Twin Disc products
  • Knowledge of Power Transmission and Driveline Products, Diesel and/or Electric Motor Applications is preferred

Work Environment:

  • Domestic travel required as appropriate up to 50% of the time
  • Located within 2 hours of Racine, WI or Lufkin, TX preferred

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Experience selling engineering products, specifically products in the off-highway industrial market

Other Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, time management, and people skills
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Through market research, data mining, trade shows, or other methods, identify sales opportunities for Twin Disc within North America
  • Provide application information and technical support to sales, customers, distributors, and manufacturing
  • Collaborate with North American Sales Manager and other departments in investigating new applications, target accounts, vertical markets, product enhancements/integration
  • Approve applications and accessory requirements, verifying that new units ordered are proper for intended use via analysis and calculation
  • Provide liason between the sales, engineering, and manufacturing, providing input on quality and competitive position
  • Assist product management in product planning; gather new product ideas and evaluate their potential
  • Research new markets and customers for Twin Disc Products
  • Maintain and strengthen customer base, visiting key customers as assigned
  • Participate in, and walk trade shows, as assigned
