SUMMARY
Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in Poclain. Develop, evaluate, implement and improve manufacturing methods via process and capital budget improvements and equipment modifications.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate CNC programs for new products using CAM software
  • Optimize existing CNC programs to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure routings are correctly maintained and updated in ERP system.
  • Analyze, plan workforce standards, space requirements and work flow. 
  • Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Responsible for assisting with tool and gage design.
  • Provide technical process support via written manufacturing instructions.
  • Confer with Product Development Team concerning tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Serve as support to purchasing as expert regarding purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluate purchased products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Responsible for documentation control.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to improve and understand the production processes.
  • Evaluate and apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Responsible for developing and meeting operations budgets within engineering group; develop, submit and stay within capital expenditures for department.
  • Act as change agent to promote team work, respect, creativity, employment and confidence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR SUCCESS
  • BSME: Mechanical Engineering degree or other closely related engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years' required (5+ years’ preferred) applicable experience in machining with experience in cast iron, ductile iron and hydraulic components highly preferred
  • Must have experience working with CNC programming and CAMWorks; Siemens controls experience is a plus
  • Must have understanding of GD&T and CMM reporting
  • Ability to problem solve within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of automation, LEAN manufacturing and other industrial technologies.
