As we continue our global expansion, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team. Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Research Technician to our team on 1st shift. The Research Technician is responsible for preparing product for testing of capability and durability, installing products or components on test stand for test, and monitoring the performance of the product or component being tested. This position is also responsible for preparing, calibrating and attaching instrumentation to the product or component for the purpose of gathering test data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience and/or Education: 

Associates degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering or equivalent experience.

Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical assistance to the engineer in charge of specific project.
  • Reviews test request and item to be tested, type of test, and test parameters.  Identifies and locates necessary test equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Disassembles prototype, product or component to be tested in order to attach sensors where specified on test request.  Measures critical components, “blues” certain surfaces to accommodate later checks for wear, drills and taps holes to accommodate sensors.
  • Reassembles prototype, product or component to operating configuration.
  • Configures test stand so that test unit can be installed.  May modify test fixtures, stands, etc. to accommodate proper connection of unit to test stand. Connects unit to stand, hydraulics, instrumentation, etc.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic Knowledge in 2-d CAD, Draft Sight or AutoCad preferred
  • Knowledgeable in creation of spreadsheets
  • Skilled in the use of data acquisition equipment, Dataq and National Instruments preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring devices such as gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills and listening skills that allow being able to work with people in all levels of  the organization and external customers.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
