Summary:
This position maintains materials and production planning functions. Responsible for the communication of information necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the SAP system.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 §Schedule the production plan based on sales and forecasted requirements in conjunction with production capacities.
 §Review and firm MRP suggestions (or create jobs) and release jobs supporting the production schedule.
 §Complete jobs in the ERP system by ensuring materials issued, labor charged, and serial numbers assigned are correct.
 §Job management - keep the job database updated and clean.
 §Coordinate and communicate changes to the production schedule with other departments.
 §Work with purchasing, supply chain, and warehouse departments in preplanning and executing the build plan to ensure materials are available.
 §Work with engineering on jobs for new parts or changes to existing parts, and on special or custom jobs that require modifications to standard job travelers.
 §Work closely with manufacturing engineering and accounting to ensure the system has the correct production information to generate correct costing information.
 §Create, generate, and distribute various periodic reports related to production.
 §Monitor and report production labor efficiencies.
 §Other duties as assigned.


Education and Qualifications:
 §Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or 5 years of similar work experience is required.
 §A minimum of 3 years of experience in planning and/or scheduling with a manufacturing company is preferred.
 §Familiarity with an ERP system (SAP) 
 §Experience using Microsoft Office is required.
 §Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process variation reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets related to materials management.
 §Great attention to detail and a tenacious ability to resolve errors to completion.
 §Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 §Strong analytical skills.
 §Excellent organizational and planning skills.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:
 §While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and lift and maneuver parts
 §Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
 §Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, peripheral, and the ability to focus.
 §While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a typical factory environment, occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and chemicals.
 §Safety glasses/goggles must be worn at all times while in designated areas of the shop.
