Position Purpose:

One on One Educational Assistant for a student during the Extended Learning Program.

Qualifications:

Ability to provide instruction with multi-age groups using the curriculum provided. Create a positive learning environment and manage student behavior.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of the student’s IEP, disability related needs and supplementary aides and services.

2. Ability to monitor student achievement and help students to improve knowledge.

3. Effective communication skills to communicate student’s needs to the Program Coordinator.

4. Ability to flex teaching methodologies based the needs of students.

5. Be a positive role model and build relationships with students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Create a learning environment where students feel valued and engaged.

2. Effectively manage small groups of students.

3. Use differentiated instruction to provide appropriate and meaning activities to all children.

4. Demonstrate consistent organization and preparation to ensure activities go smoothly.

5. Attend and participate in all professional development and workshops as required.

6. Communicate daily with the Site Lead.

7. Support students' functional skills

Safety:

Employee is responsible for ensuring all work performed meets the highest industry standards and is done in compliance with all local, state and federal requirements.

Employee is responsible for knowing the school’s fire, tornado and lockdown procedures.
