Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Demand Planning Manager based out of our Manufacturing Headquarters in Racine, WI

  • The Demand Planning Manager creates the demand forecast utilizing various inputs from the industry, market share, statistical trends, inventory, and production.  This position analyzes industry trends and anticipates demand changes, taking vital actions to drive planning activities.  The Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for supply chain escalation issues that impact operations, engineering, and design.  This position will work closely with operations, engineering, and procurement to ensure we have the correct supply chain for our operations team.  This highly visible role will collaborate with executive level leadership on sales, inventory, finance, and special projects.
  • Manage demand plan for assigned products, including managing the agreed upon initiatives to drive improvements within the manufacturing, procurement, and inventory strategies. Analyze demand using ERP and various tools including forecast accuracy, historical trends, and monthly changes to improve performance.
  • Develop and maintain complex forecasting models.  Serve as owner and administrator of the monthly demand forecast working closely with the commercial and finance teams. Calculate, track, and improve forecast accuracy by products and customers, striving to improve and maintain the target level of variance and service to the customer base. Provide support by generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed to support the customer channel.
  • Schedule and lead regular SIOP (Demand, Supply, Reconsolidation, Executive Cycles) meeting with key stakeholders to assess changes to plan. Lead monthly Demand Review to present forecast projections, explain inputs, and reconcile/align gaps between SKU forecast and sales estimates, (SIOP / S&P).
  • Measure performance by creating and / or providing metrics and measurements, as well as exception management reports, to analyze program effectiveness and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with customers to Root Cause CounterMeasure (RCCM) planning gaps and to align systems.
  • Review weekly forecast consumption to identify outliers, communication action plans, and revise future forecasts.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics for both demand plan and SIOP effectiveness
  • Perform Inventory Turn analytics.
  • Assist in annual sales budgeting process:
    • Develop a rolling 18-month demand plan by facilitating the process with the commercial, logistics and supply planning teams.
    • Facilitate the monthly reviews with Finance and drive the reconciliation process between operating plan and budget.
  • Conduct product portfolio analytics
  • Develop inventory Strategies around stocking levels, Kanban & material/inventory flow within the shop and supply chain.
  • Lead North American Inventory Control Board / Team (Cross functional team dedicated to inventory reduction, inventory accuracy, inventory turns, WIP Inventory & E&O).
  • Advising on go to market strategies / portfolio offerings vs. sales performance

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance or other related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with exposure to Sales Forecasting, Demand Planning Analysis, Market Analysis, Manufacturing/Purchasing Planning, or related field.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed environment, acting as a cross functional liaison between manufacturing, distribution, customer service, and finance teams to maximize service levels and inventory turns.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to complex business systems???????

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced experience working in an ERP environment, JDE Preferred.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint

Technical Requirements:

  • APICS Certification a plus
