Position Summary:
The Art and Science instructor will lead the art and science activities provided by the Extended Learning Department for the summer.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
3-5 years of experience working with children in the after-school program or a similar program.
Licenses and Certifications:

- Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have the ability to lead a group of 15-20 students independently.
- Must have strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage in positive behavior management.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be dedicated to preparation and planning for the next day’s lessons.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to reach all students' ability levels.
- Ability to adapt well and respond positively and resiliently to change in environment and/or job tasks and assignments
- Ability to work well with others and/or with little or no direct supervision
- Takes initiative, thinks critically, and uses deductive reasoning to address problems and issues.
Essential Functions:
- Create a learning environment where students feel valued and eager to attend.
- Provide differentiated instruction, with mixed-grade classrooms, using existing curriculum materials or developing your own initiatives.
- Record daily attendance.
- Attend all trainings and meetings as required.
- Provide high-quality program facilitation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Lead and/or Director of Extended Learning.

Employee is responsible for knowing the school’s fire, tornado and lockdown procedures.
