Position Summary: Provide customer service and perform secretarial duties in the Welcome Center.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years in areas relevant to this position or general office experience and Bilingual.

Essential Functions:

? Provide excellent customer service and support to school families who need assistance in-person, via phone or email.
? Maintains confidentiality in verbal, written and electronic communication.
? Has an understanding of all District departments including the personnel assigned and major responsibilities of
departments in order to be helpful in directing customers to appropriate department/person.
? Supports District families with all aspects of the enrollment process.
? Supports families with access to and instruction in how to utilize the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
? Updates the student information system including, but not limited to address changes, household changes, emergency
contact updates, merging of duplicate files and withdrawals.
? Complete necessary enrollment paperwork, reviewing necessary documents (birth records, immunization records, address
verification, etc.).
? Collaborates with various District department and school staff to ensure families have the supports they need and are
prepared to successfully start school in RUSD.
? Accurately enters and verifies all changes in Infinite Campus (student/parent/household demographic data).
? Maintains up-to-date awareness of District programs, resources and activities in order to provide information to families as
appropriate.
? Must continuously be knowledgeable with District procedures specifically with respect to Infinite Campus and enrollment.
? Maintain private school rosters.
? Provide enrollment assistance (including but not limited to assisting families with completing online applications, gathering
the required documentation, and working with families to remove barriers to the enrollment process)
? Develop, discover, and attend community events to promote enrollment into Racine Unified School District (RUSD) and
share the mission and vision of RUSD.
? Distribute Racine Unified School District (RUSD) enrollment, school and district event information, and resources to parents,
families, community members, partner organizations, and businesses to build awareness of the offerings of RUSD.
? Collaborate with family engagement staff to plan and implement outreach activities.
? Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
? This position may require overtime in August and September.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:
? Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
? Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
? Able to multitask with frequent interruptions.
? Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, showing sensitivity to the various needs of parents/families.
? Secretarial skills, i.e., keyboarding, computer skills Word & Excel, scanning/uploading documents, emails. Must be willing
and able to learn current District electronic communication system including, but not limited to, email, distribution lists,
directory, attachments, and calendar functions.
? Ability to work independently in a very busy office environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
? Willingness and ability to learn new computer programs/systems.
? Demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow in a high-volume office with minimal supervision.
? Must have strong problem-solving skills.
? Must dress in professional attire.
? Must demonstrate dependability (excellent attendance, on time, etc.)
Work Environment:
? Busy office environment.
Physical Demands:
? Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour day
? Ability to perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to thirty pounds without assistance in an indoor setting
? Ability to reach in all directions and bend/stoop to store and retrieve files
? Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide information and assistance
? Ability to move throughout the building and from building to building
? Dexterity and hand/eye coordination necessary to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment such as fax
machine, copier, etc.
? Hearing ability adequate to participate in numerous conversations throughout the day, both in person and over the
telephone
? Ability to complete job activities in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm
? Ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy
Contacts with other departments, outside organizations, and the general public:
? Regular contact/communication with other departments, schools and general public.
